I have always loved the Psalms. I love how real they are and how passionate. David does not hide his feelings about what is going on in his life. He pleads with God to act on his behalf. Examples of this are:
- Be gracious to me
- Heal me
- Do not rebuke me
- Rescue my soul
- Save me
Another element about David that I just love is his confidence. In pretty much all his Psalms David ends with praise. Acknowledging that God is going to act on David's behalf. I find that level of trust to be encouraging, but also convicting. I don't always trust God as fully as David did, he rested confidently in his God even when times were hard. David trusted, and David waited.
I feel like God is calling me to learn to wait on Him. I don't know what exactly about, and perhaps that is where the trusting comes in. I don't like to wait. I want to act and move forward. But perhaps my version of moving forward isn't at all what God has in mind. Maybe just maybe what I see as waiting is actually God's way of moving me forward.
